Humble Beginnings
Joe Felderhoff establishes Muenster Milling Co. in Muenster, Texas, using locally grown grains to produce flour for the surrounding community. Some of the agricultural relationships formed during those early years continue today.
For more than 90 years, Muenster has grown and adapted while continuing to make animal nutrition right here in Texas.

We don’t just develop recipes. We make the food ourselves.
Our kibble is made at our mill in Muenster, Texas, while our freeze-dried foods and treats are made at our facility in Denton. Because we own and operate both facilities, our team stays involved throughout the process, from developing each recipe to making and packaging the finished product.
That hands-on approach brings together decades of experience, thoughtful innovation, and a real understanding of what pets and their people need.
Muenster’s story has always been one of learning, adapting, and finding new ways to serve animals and the people who care for them. Over the years, we’ve grown from milling flour to producing livestock feed, performance-animal nutrition, kibble, and freeze-dried pet food.
A lot has changed since 1932. Our commitment to making dependable nutrition in Texas has not.
Joe Felderhoff establishes Muenster Milling Co. in Muenster, Texas, using locally grown grains to produce flour for the surrounding community. Some of the agricultural relationships formed during those early years continue today.
After Joe’s passing, his son Arthur takes over the business and converts the flour mill into a feed mill, producing livestock nutrition for farms throughout North Texas.
Arthur’s son Ronnie becomes president and expands the company’s capabilities with specialized nutrition for show animals and performance horses.
The installation of our first pet food extruder marks Muenster’s entrance into pet food manufacturing and begins a new chapter for the company.
We introduce Muenster Natural, a pet food line made without corn, wheat, or soy. The launch reflects a growing focus on thoughtful ingredients and nutrition designed specifically for dogs.
Mitch Felderhoff joins the company in 2007 to lead sales and marketing. His brother Chad follows in 2013 to lead operations, continuing Muenster’s tradition of hands-on leadership while preparing the company for its next stage of growth.
We install our first freeze-dryer and begin exploring a new way to make nutrient-rich food with the flavor and aroma dogs love.
We open a state-of-the-art freeze-drying facility in Denton, Texas. The expanded facility allows us to develop and produce more freeze-dried meals, toppers, and treats while maintaining close control over how they’re made.
Experience matters, but so does the willingness to keep improving.
Our team brings together decades of manufacturing knowledge, animal nutrition expertise, in-house product development, and the curiosity to keep learning. We’re always looking for better ways to make nutritious, enjoyable food for dogs, from dependable everyday kibble to flavorful freeze-dried meals, toppers, and treats.
After nearly a century, we still believe good nutrition begins with knowing exactly what you’re making and taking pride in how you make it.
Dogs bring more joy, personality, and perfectly lovable chaos into our lives.
That’s why we develop and make every recipe right here in Texas, with the care and expertise your dog deserves.
